Owned by the City of Bryan and serving the city and some of the surrounding area, recently the City of Bryan helped retire a coal plant (Gibbons Creek) and signed new contracts for solar power, also offering a 100% renewable option (at a higher price). Still, the utility does not offer community solar, nor solar rebates and has not set a long-term renewable energy goal. Bryan Texas Utilities also provides wholesale power to the Texas A&M campus and recently signed a contract to provide the campus with solar power.
