Deep East Electric is a transmission and distribution electric cooperative, formed in 1938 with headquartered in San Augustine, Texas and serves some 40,000 meters in eight counties of east Texas, including Jasper, Nacogdoches, Newton, Panola, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine and Shelby Counties. The cooperative did not did not report any investments in renewable energy in recent years, and did not offer green rates, community solar or onsite solar rebates but does have 354 kW of member owned solar generating 621.2 MWh.
