Denton County Electric Cooperative, Inc., doing business as CoServ Electric, generates and distributes electricity for residential, commercial, and industrial use. CoServ Electric serves North Texas customers in Denton, Collin, Cooke, Grayson, Tarrant and Wise counties. In recent years, the cooperative has begun to move into providing renewable energy services, including a community solar program. According to the cooperative's website , in 2020 it signed an agreement to purchase an additional 50 MW of new solar energy and provides its customers a cost competitive 100% solar energy rate.
