Since 1938, United Cooperative Services has provided electricity service to the rural homes and businesses of North Texas. Headquartered in Burleson, United is an electric distribution cooperative serving more than 86,000 meters and more than 62,000 members in 14 counties: Bosque, Comanche, Coryell, Eastland, Ellis, Erath, Hamilton, Hood, Johnson, Palo Pinto, Somervell, Stephens, Tarrant and Young. In recent years, they have increased their level of commitment by providing incentives to solar, electric vehicles and new efficient ACs, and beginning a community solar program. They currently have the highest score/rating for any of the Texas COOPs in Texas.
