One of the fastest growing electric cooperatives in the country, Magic Valley is an electric cooperative service large parts of the Lower Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. Founded in 1937, MVEC joined with other area electric cooperatives to form South Texas Electric Cooperative and transferred their substations and transmission assets to STEC. While STEC has begun to invest in some wind resources, MVEC has not begun any onsite solar or community solar programs, and offers fairly limited energy savings opportunities.
