Upshur Rural Electric Cooperative serves over 46,000 meters covering a ten county area in Northeast Texas, operating in the Southwest Power Pool, and serving Camp, Cass, Gregg, Harrison, Marion, Rusk, Smith, Upshur and Wood Counties. While the cooperative is beginning to explore some new clean energy options, they have yet to make investments or launch programs in the clean energy space. They do currently receive some energy from hydro dams in Texas and some wind power from Oklahoma.
